Goats now, too!

My family

I got 2 goats a short while back. They came to me as a family got transferred out of state. What a crazy animal. They are so cool to be around. I thought they would be a substitute for a lawn mower, but these 2 girls have been spoiled. Maple and Amber are buddies with Sally the mule and Ivan the hinny. Well, I should say, Ivan tolerates them, but

Sally and Maple are bonded

doesn’t really like them. He’s a funny guy. Nevertheless, they graze the fields together and in the summer I found the goats laying down in the shade of the larger animals when they were sleeping standing up. Silly girls.

It’s hilarious, as when I go to ride Sally now, I just open up the gate wide. Ivan follows along, the 2 goats follow along, and the 2 dogs certainly won’t be left home alone. There is a big hill behind the place and the dogs and goats love to

Maple and Amber

climb high! I call it my “family outing”. Now I just have to get the cats to video tape our outings!
